Beehiiv setup:
- Alex uses Beehiiv to host the newsletter because it has an API for automations
Substack backup system:
- Set up newsletter on Substack for additional signups
- Get email notification when someone signs up on Substack
- Send notification into Zapier, then Zapier sends subscriber into Clay
- Clay enriches that person and sends into Beehiiv platform
Why this matters: Alex discovered that people sign up on both platforms, and by syncing them, he captures maximum audience without losing potential subscribers to platform preferences.

Create content that drives newsletter discovery
Your LinkedIn posts are the top-of-funnel content that drives organic discovery and initial subscriber growth.
- Write posts about practical applications in your newsletter's niche (Alex uses AI in sales/GTM)
- Include specific examples and actionable tips (like "how to run DeepSeek locally")
- Add newsletter links strategically in comments or post conclusions, not as the main CTA
- Track engagement patterns to identify which topics resonate most with your audience
As your LinkedIn network grows through this process, your content reach naturally increases.
Alex went from 5-10 likes per post to 50+ likes by growing his connected audience. Each new subscriber becomes a potential amplifier for future content.

Enrich your subscriber data in Clay

Now that your subscribers are categorized, create personalized connection requests that reference their actual LinkedIn content. This personal touch dramatically improves acceptance rates.

Import your Clay list into La Growth Machine
Now that you have enriched and personalized data in Clay, it's time to set up your outreach campaigns.
In Clay, select the leads you want to export, then:
- Click the "Export" button and choose "Email Sequencers"
- Select La Growth Machine then indicate in which LGM audience you want to export the list
- Add your custom attributes: Ensure your AI-generated personalized elements are included as custom fields so you can insert them into your campaign copywriting in the next step.

You can build the outreach sequences in La Growth Machine while maintaining safe limits and human-like behavior patterns.
Create your outreach sequence:
- Set up connection request (if already connected, send direct message)
- Create sequence: visit profile → add connection → like recent post
- Add follow-up messages after connection acceptance using your custom attributes:
- Send your message, including the custom attributes you generated with the AI prompts
- Reference their persona category from your segmentation
Now, convert these relationships to pipeline. After establishing rapport, introduce relevant solutions:
- Share case studies relevant to their role/industry
- Offer free resources (templates, guides) in exchange for contact info
- Schedule calls to understand their challenges
